This memoir is written about her fifty year career behind the desk of a counselor. Her career journey led her into the fields of child welfare, adoption, medical social work, geriatrics, and outpatient and inpatient mental health. Norma's goal in writing her memoir is to contribute to clearing up the stigma and mystery attached to mental illness by inviting her readers to learn what happened on the other side of her desk. About the Author First time author Norma Armstrong McNeil, MSSW, LCSW graduated in 1968 from Lambuth Methodist College in Jackson, Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in Divinity. She completed her masters degree in social work in 1987 from the University of Tennessee. She also received a Certificate of Applied Gerontology from the University of Mississippi.
